About Us

Steve_ClarkSteve Clark founded the Northern Kentucky Zen Center in his Erlanger home in 2007, roughly two years after starting zen practice at the Cincinnati Zen Center. He passed away in June 2011 after an extended illness. Steve's enthusiasm and commitment to the practice serve as an inspiration to all. Following his death, the group relocated to the Yoseikan Karate School in Covington.

The NKZC is an IRS and state-registered, nonprofit religious organization supported by donations and the generosity of its members and visitors. We are part of the Furnace Mountain Sangha under the direction of guiding teacher Zen Master Dae Gak. We are also affiliated with other local zen groups including the Cincinnati Zen Center, the Hamilton Zen Center, the Zen Fellowship of Dayton, and the Christian Meditation Group at Northern Hills United Methodist Church in Cincinnati.
